Unlike many daycare centers that treat you like a paying customer, we consider you family! The nurturing atmosphere here is what keeps our staff and families with us for so many years.
You'll find not only early childhood care and education for little ones starting at age 2, but also our private, Christian kindergarten and first grade programs... with before/after care already built in! And of course, children up to age 12 can also come here for before/after school care. You can also take advantages of part-time care.
Academics
Growing Station Day Care offers Preschool primarily using the A Beka curriculum. This is the oldest and most widely used Christian school curriculum in America today. It is known for its strong academic foundation, emphasizing a phonetic approach to reading, traditional methods of teaching the three R’s as well as biblical, moral, and character development. Test scores from across the country of children using the A Beka curriculum show a one-to- two-year learning advantage.
Virginia Quality Participant
Growing Station Daycare is a proud participant in the Virginia Quality program, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to both maintaining and increasing our quality. Virginia Quality centers are among the state's finest early childhood institutions, as we receive continuing professional development, classroom materials, expert mentoring, and much more. It also gives you peace of mind that your child's daycare is being overseen not just by state licensing (which only focuses on safety), but early childhood leaders who ensure that the learning standards are also at a high level.
Our Loving & Qualified Staff
The teacher-child relationship is paramount, so we provide a supportive work environment that keeps our teacher retention high! The administration covers many areas of consideration in the selection of staff. They must profess faith in Jesus Christ as savior and adhere to the basic Christian beliefs as stated in the Apostles’ Creed, be academically qualified, be a person of moral integrity and have a genuine love for children.
Our staff members are the backbone of our center. They stand ready to assist not only the child in his academic growth, but the parents in their quest to see the child reach his/her full potential. A physician’s statement for each staff member supervising the children is required for employment, which certifies that the staff member is free from any disability that would prevent him or her from supervising children. This is submitted annually to the State. A thorough background check and fingerprinting is done on all employees. A CPR-certified staff member is always on duty.
Hours & Days
Daycare for Ages 2 ½ - 3
7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, year round
Daycare for Ages 3 - 12
6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, year round for ages 2 ½ – 12 years.
Part-Time Care
Part time care is offered for those attending our preschool program only. You may choose one of the two plans:

Five half days (8:30 – 12:30)

Three full days (8:00 – 3:00)
Extended Care
Extended Care is only offered to parents needing care from the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Each parent interested must sign up for this program.
Before- and After-School Care
Only open for those who attend select schools in the Deep Creek Area. (See virector for school listing). For an additional fee, you can include transportation, public school closures/ holidays, full-day care, and half-day care (12:00 Release Days).
Class Sizes
Growing Station Day Care, we believe that children need individualized care. Our toddlers and preschool classes are limited to 10 children per teacher. Our school-age students (ages 6 to 8) are limited to 18 children per teacher. Our older school-age students (ages 9-12) are limited to 20 children per teacher.
Uniforms
Yes, our children wear uniforms! This is mandatory Monday through Thursday. Fridays are free dress! Please see uniform sheet for select colors and shoes.
Mission
Growing Station Day Care is a ministry of The Fullness of the Spirit Ministry Church and serves all families within the community. We offer small class sizes giving the personal loving care each child needs in order to achieve his or her potential. It is our goal to create a fun harmonious atmosphere in which children will grow physically, spiritually, and mentally through Christian curriculum and hands on experiences.
